Communicating with customers or making marketing mistakes.
From the desk of Werner le Roux
Managing Director @ FLUX

Corporate corridor conversations confirm our perception that the frequency of promotional faxes and marketing material have increased substantially recently. Have you noticed that some company newsletters are verging on spam and that product updates and cut price bargains have morphed into daily irritants in your inbox?

Our personal favourite is the stationery company sending unsolicited faxes offering a special offer on cartridges – a bit rich when the recipient has had to use their ink and paper to receive the message!  Even in good times, costing your potential customer to receive your message is not the way to build your client base.

True, keeping your brand or product top of mind is important, particularly in economically challenging times, but consumers quickly see through your “just unpacked” or “once in a lifetime” messages, recognising them as a desperate attempt to generate sales leads and drive profitability up.

In financially challenging times smart marketing (not spam newsletters) will keep existing customers and attract new clients.  So be sure your audience has opted in, don’t increase your transmission frequency without their acceptance and target your messages carefully.

FLUX NewsEasy.NET provides the perfect solution for mass customisation, delivering meaningful, measurable electronic messages to relevant selected segments.  Bulk electronic communications (e-Mail or SMS messages) continue to deliver optimum ROI, making it a must-have marketing tool.

Big Brother is watching you!
Make sure Big Brother can’t watch you!

With the amount of personal and private data available on your computer, it's important to make sure your data is protected from both malicious software programmes or "Malware" as well as the deadly scares from hackers, but it doesn't need to cost you an arm and a leg. I'm aware that a lot of people pay annual or even monthly subscriptions to Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware products, but in these tough economic times, something for nothing is worth considering.  Martin Venter, security specialist at FLUX, suggests a totally free security setup which has never failed him. So if you want no email spam, only security programmes that work, free of charge, read on.
